fish. eye. view.

I was in Newtown last weekend and found myself an awesome little fisheye lens in one of the 'antique' shops.  It was made to be used on film cameras, but with a couple of stepping rings, (that I purchased from the camera shop down there) I've managed to adapt it to screw onto my 50mm.  Here's a shot of what the beast looks like:

 Canon 5DmkIII, 50mm f/1.4 & Panagor fish-eye lens 0.15x

Canon 5DmkIII, 50mm f/1.4 & Panagor fish-eye lens 0.15x

Today I took the boys to the beach so we could test it out.  I'm shooting on a full frame camera so the image doesn't fill the frame...but it's fun all the same.  It's bloody wide too - you'll see my feet and shadow in a few of the frames.

So here's what I got.  Not bad for a purchase that cost a smudge more than $50.
